Sports Day 16th June 2017
What a fantastic afternoon that was! The children had an amazing time competing in a sprint race, obstacle course and egg and spoon race, to name but a few. They all displayed amazing sportsmanship qualities, superb determination, resilience and graciousness. The older children guided and supported the younger children and everyone cheered every team which was a delight to witness.
The winners were the 'Red Team' but the whole school did themselves proud.
The Parents' obstacle race was highly competitive, well done to all those who took part The Toddler Race was fantastic too with some little super stars displaying their talents!!
Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, uncles, aunties and all the spectators who came to cheer the children on.
Finally, a special thank you goes to Mrs Duggin for all her hard work organising the teams and setting up the afternoon for all the events.
On Friday 19th May, Key Stage 2 spent the entire day at Retford Gymnastics Club in Torworth. We had an amazing and very energetic day practising our summersaults, flips, jumps and cartwheels. Even the teachers joined in too!
It was fabulous to have the opportunity to use such a fantastic resource again.
As part of topic on space, Class 4 recently visited The National Space Centre near Leicester.
We had an amazing time exploring the six galleries, including the iconic Rocket Tower and the UK’s largest domed planetarium, crammed full of space suits, rockets, satellites and meteorites. We came face to face with astronauts and space suits and became trainee astronauts ourselves on a lunar base.
The whole day was incredible and has inspired a host of art and design activities, creative writing experiences and scientific investigations back at school.
As you know, Class 4 is being taught by Mrs O'Neill and Mrs Duggin. Mrs O'Neill works Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday and Mrs Duggin works alternate Wednesdays/Thursday/Friday.
