Hello, welcome to our Butterflies class page!

We are so excited to make this year one to remember! In our setting, we love learning through playing and exploring, getting creative, solving problems by working as a team and getting stuck in to the outdoors. Watching the children grow in ability, skills and confidence is always such a joy. We are going to be making so many amazing memories that we can all treasure as we progress through the year. We really encourage our children to embrace our school values in everything they do. They will learn to be empathic, courageous, passionate, resilient and respectful.

Each half term we focus on a different topic to make sure we can fit in lots of exciting things throughout the year. Our topics for this year are ‘All About Me’, ‘Let’s Celebrate!’, ‘Once Upon a Time’ ‘Nature Explorers’, ‘On the Farm’ and ‘Commotion in the Ocean’.

Please ask us any question (no matter how small you think this may be) and we will try and give you as much information as possible.

How you can help at home…

-Read, read read! Reading for enjoyment is something we always encourage. Read labels, signs, magazines…anything! If you share a bedtime story with your child or read their school reading book with them, please do write in their reading diary. We love to see what they have been enjoying.

– Labels! Make sure that everything your child brings into school is clearly labelled with their name please.

-Please also be reassured that if we have any worries or concerns regarding your child, we will contact you straight away!

We are always happy to answer any questions – catch us at the door or give school a call!

Thanks
Miss Redmond and Mrs Crush

Reading

The children will be receiving reading books from school and it is important that you read with them daily. This will help support their phonics knowledge and reading skills.

It is also important that you bring their book in their school book bag daily, so we can read with your child if required.

Your child’s book will be changed on a Friday.

We are also sending home some High Frequency Words. These are words that we encourage the children to learn by sight! Please help support them with learning them.
