Grade 4 Teaching Assistant

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s learning across the primary age range. The successful candidate will play a key role in both supporting learning in the mornings across different classes and leading whole-class sessions during PPA cover in the afternoons. You will help to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment in which every child can thrive.

In this role you will:

Morning – Classroom Support Across School

  • Support teaching and learning across different year groups
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning in phonics, reading, writing and maths
  • Deliver targeted interventions to support pupils who need additional help
  • Assist in the preparation of learning resources and classroom environments
  • Support behaviour, engagement and inclusion across lessons
  • Observe and provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress

Afternoon – PPA Cover (Whole-Class Delivery)

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects (e.g. PE, art, computing, foundation subjects
  • Manage the classroom effectively to ensure a positive learning environment
  • Adapt activities to meet the needs of different learners
  • Provide clear instructions and maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning
  • Ensure continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher
